The applicant is required to have an earned bachelor’s degree with a minimum of one year of demonstrated higher education work experience. Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills as well as demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively as a key member of a vibrant team are required.
Preference will be given to candidates who have an earned Master’s degree in an academic advising related field (College Student Affairs, Adult & Higher Education, Educational Leadership, etc.), as well as experience in Academic and/or Career Advising. Demonstrated understanding of student development theory in relation to daily advising practices, student transition and success, and demonstrated experience working with students with majors housed within our college in a higher education setting are also preferred. Familiarity with computer student information systems and web-based records and registration programs (Banner, Degree Works, OnBase, etc.) is preferred.
Responsibilities – Essential Functions
This position primarily involves academic advising of undergraduate students in the (PCEC) academic programs in engineering, computing, and occupational safety and health management. The essential functions of this position include advising students enrolled in majors and minors within PCEC, international student advising, orientation of freshman and transfer students, and outreach to prospective students.
Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
