Summary: Grand Valley State is a masters-at-large, liberal arts college with just over 25,000 undergraduate and graduate students housed on two campuses in Allendale and Grand Rapids, Michigan. The exercise science program is contained within the Movement Science Department and has just over 1,000 undergraduate students across two different emphasis areas – Clinical and Health Fitness Instruction.
- A minimum of a MS/MA in exercise science or a closely related field is essential.
- The committee is seeking an individual with demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college and/or university level, and commitment to professional growth.
- A nationally recognized professional certification, e.g. NSCA or ACSM or equivalent
The responsibility of this position will be to teach classroom courses related to:
- Exercise Physiology
- Research Methods
- Exercise Testing and Prescription
- Advanced Strength and Conditioning
- Other courses as assigned
Salary: Commensurate with experience. Initially a one-year appointment, with the possibility of two, further one-year renewals to a maximum of three years.
