Required Qualifications and Education:
Ph.D. in Spanish with experience teaching Spanish language, familiarity with ACTFL standards, and specialization in Second Language Acquisition or Applied Linguistics. Ph.D. in hand preferred, but ABD candidates will be considered for a two year contract with provision that your Ph.D. must be completed by December 2020. Native or near-native fluency required in Spanish and English. This nine-month, full-time, tenure track position will start August 2019.
Preferred Qualifications and Education:
Focus on second language literacies or writing and experience with K-12 education programs a plus
Responsibilities – Essential Functions:
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to teach all levels of Spanish language courses and will contribute actively to the Spanish Secondary and Elementary Education programs. Scholarly and professional activity expected, university and department service also required. Must demonstrate a commitment to a balance among undergraduate teaching, scholarship, and service.
Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Department/Division: Modern Languages and Literatures.
