Grand Valley State University (GVSU) in Grand Rapids, Michigan is currently accepting applications for full-time tenure-track faculty position, rank of assistant/associate based upon qualifications and experience, in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. The department is home to a large undergraduate program, an accredited master’s in speech-language pathology program, and a developing audiology (Au.D.) program. This is an exciting opportunity for innovative and motivated individuals who appreciate an integrated academic and clinical program and have a desire to educate tomorrow’s professionals.
- Doctoral degree (ABD considered) in speech-language pathology or related discipline
- ASHA certification with experience in direct clinical practice
- Demonstrated record and/or potential for active scholarship
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Area of expertise that complements current faculty; preference for those with expertise in fluency, voice, AAC, or ASD
- Preference for those with evidence of strong teaching and willing to integrate academics with clinical education
Responsibilities: Teaching in the graduate program and the undergraduate pre-professional program, with both academic and clinical education responsibilities. Preference for candidates with expertise in fluency, voice, AAC, or ASD, but will accept and consider applicants with expertise in other areas. In addition to the primary focus upon teaching, all faculty members must demonstrate scholarly activity, advise/mentor students, and provide service to the university, community, and the profession.
Salary: Highly competitive and commensurate with experience.
