The Philosophy Department is hiring a specialist in feminist philosophy, for an assistant professor, full-time, 9 month, tenure track position to start August 6, 2019. The Department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their research, teaching and/or service.

Required Qualifications and Education:

Candidates are required to have Ph.D. in philosophy with an emphasis in feminist philosophy. ABD will be considered for a two year contract with a provision that the Ph.D. must be completed by December, 2020.

Preferred Qualifications and Education: 

We prefer candidates with a solid grounding in the history of philosophy and a commitment to excellent teaching in the tradition of liberal education. We have additional teaching needs in aesthetics, ethics, and professional ethics, and the ability to teach in any of these areas is desirable.

Responsibilities – Essential Functions: 

3 courses/semester, undergraduate, expectation of active scholarship, usual service duties. Summer teaching possible.
