Summary: School of Criminal Justice (College of Community and Public Service) Grand Valley State University (GVSU) is currently accepting applications for a full-time, tenure track faculty position in the Legal Studies Program in the School of Criminal Justice. The School of Criminal Justice has a total of over 650 Criminal Justice and Legal Studies undergraduate majors, a graduate program, and an accredited police academy. The Legal Studies Program is approved by the American Bar Association and is known for community engagement and its success in preparing students for legal careers. Summer teaching opportunities may also be available.
- A Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school
- Professional experience in civil law
- Experience working with paralegals
- Ability to engage in scholarship
- Experience teaching in the field of law
- Knowledge or practice experience related to the courses in the Legal Studies curriculum.
- A current license to practice law
Responsibilities: Teach a variety of law-related courses at the undergraduate level and engage in scholarship and service as provided in the GVSU Faculty Handbook.
