Summary: The Office of the Vice Provost for Health seeks a dynamic, creative, and collaborative individual to serve as Director of the Interprofessional Education Office & Special Projects.  This person will work closely with the Vice Provost for Health and the Simulation Team to create and develop health programs and initiatives that meet our mission of educating students to promote and provide optimal healthcare for individuals and communities.  Candidates should have a commitment to the mission, vision and values of the Office of the Vice Provost for Health and to interprofessional education and collaborative practice.

Required Qualifications and Education:

  • Master’s Degree in a health-related discipline
  • Minimum of three years of clinically related experience
  • Minimum of one year experience in implementing, planning and/or evaluating interprofessional practice
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully working with faculty, staff, and community members
  • Excellent interpersonal, intercultural collaborative communication and leadership skills
  • Commitment to developing and enriching collaborative interprofessional partnerships and initiatives
  • Knowledge of interprofessional pedagogy
  • Expertise in program and policy development, assessment, and managing grant projects
  • Supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

  • Registered Nurse
  • Experience conducting research studies and publishing
  • Evidence of five or more years of progressively responsible experience in higher education administration

Responsibilities – Essential Functions:

  • Directly responsible for supervising the Special Projects Coordinator
  • Oversee the Interprofessional Education Office (IPO), including oversight of the Midwest Interprofessional Practice, Education, and Research Center (MIPERC)
  • Manage and actively promote the IPO website and social media accounts
  • Work directly with faculty and staff on Interprofessional education (IPE) curriculum planning and implementation
  • Make regular innovative and strategic improvements to the IPO initiatives, outreach, and structure
  • Work with the Special Projects Coordinator to plan and coordinate the annual Interprofessional Education Conference, including the pre-conference, by researching and inviting keynote speakers, planning conference objectives, coordinating conference logistics, soliciting sponsorships and providing day-of-event support and oversight
  • Plan and execute other IPE events such as the Annual Health Expo, Lunch and Learns, IPE Week and Diagnosis FUN
  • Coordinate and oversee IPE Workgroup activities, goal planning, and progress tracking
  • Serve as a catalyst for research and scholarship as it relates to the IPO and IPE
  • Assist in identifying and developing service learning activities for students
  • Manage, track and expand the interprofessional education certificate programs
  • Monitor national trends in IPE t7o ensure the IPO remains an innovative trend-setter
  • Support and update the strategic plan for the Office of the Vice Provost for Health annually and throughout the year as required
  • Develop and submit grant proposals
  • Manage new health initiatives and special projects
  • Oversee graduate student employees
  • Other tasks and special projects as assigned by the Vice Provost for Health
