The School of Engineering within Grand Valley State University’s Seymour and Esther Padnos College of Engineering and Computing invites candidates for an Affiliate Faculty position. The Affiliate Faculty member will be appointed for one academic year, or fiscal year if appropriate, on a full-time or part-time basis. This may be renewed once for an additional academic or fiscal year. Thereafter, the individual may be appointed for three (3) consecutive academic or fiscal years.

Visiting Faculty - Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (Brooks College of Interdisciplinary Studies) Allendale
The Department of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies in the Brooks College of Interdisciplinary Studies, Grand Valley State University (GVSU) is seeking applications for a full-time, one-year visiting faculty position with an anticipated start date in August 2021. Visiting positions may be renewed for up to three years depending on funding and Department, College, and University needs. Candidates should have: expertise in LGBTQ studies; experience teaching introductory WGSS courses; ability to teach courses that fulfill General Education US Diversity requirements; a demonstrated commitment to inclusive, interdisciplinary pedagogical practices; and a commitment to challenging structural inequalities while working for social justice. The teaching assignment for the 2021-22 academic year will be four courses per semester and may include: WGS 200 Introduction to Gender Studies; WGS 224 Introduction to LGBTQ Studies; WGS 255 Gender and Popular Culture; and WGS 491 Contemporary Theory and Practicum. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in LGBTQ studies and one or more of the following areas that support the Brooks College of Interdisciplinary Studies: Area and Global Studies; Digital Studies; Environmental and Sustainability Studies; and Integrative Studies.

This position provides administrative and clerical support for the Tutoring Center and the coordinators for drop-in tutoring coordinated by the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences (CLAS). This partnership is a collaborative relationship between GVSU and the Battle Creek Public Schools (BCPS) devoted to building a culturally diverse educational environment in Battle Creek. The core responsibilities for the person in this position are to provide supervision, guidance, and professional development for BCPS staff and GVSU students, and teach dual enrollment courses for BCPS students. The work for this position will take place in Battle Creek Michigan, but the candidate must be able to travel to GVSU’s Grand Rapids campus as needed. This position is a one-year position, though, depending on grant funding, it may be extended for a second year.
