The Department of English invites applications for the position of Visiting Assistant Professor specializing in applied linguistics and ESL teacher education for public K-12 systems. The position is for one year beginning in August 2023 with the potential for renewal for up to three years.
We seek a candidate with broad expertise in linguistics and applied linguistics/TESOL to teach courses in the English Department designated as linguistics-focused, such as language and power, language and gender, the history of English, teaching ELs in elementary and secondary contexts, sociolinguistics, and English grammar. The ideal candidate should be prepared to deliver classes online if it is necessary for the university to transition to remote learning under special circumstances.
