Summary:  The Physics Department at Grand Valley State University invites applications for a Visiting Faculty position to begin January 2020. 

Required Qualifications and Education: Candidates will hold a Masters or Ph.D. in Physics or Astronomy and be enthusiastically committeed to teaching undgratduate physics course to a diverse popoulation of students. 

Preferred Qualifications: Experience teaching introductory physics courses and/or labs is preferred. 

Responsibilities – Essential Functions:  Successful candidates will be responsible for teaching a full load of courses (12 contact hours/week) serving as instructor of record for introductory physics courses including lectures, discussion sections, and labs. 

Salary: Commensurate with experience and competitive with regional peer institutions. Since the initial appointment is made mid-academic year, the position will continue through April 2021. Teaching during the summer is not required but a summer teacing assignment may be possible, for additional compensation. Finally, the appointment may be renewed annually for an additional two years.
