Summary: The Honors College seeks a full-time advisor to collaborate with our current academic and enrichment advisor, college assistant, director, faculty chair, and student leaders to provide inclusive and intentional advising and support to our 1500+ undergraduate Honors students, make appropriate referrals to campus and community partners, and foster a diverse, inclusive, and welcoming space for all students.
Required Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree and experience with student services (advising, mentoring, tutoring, residence assisting, etc.); outstanding interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated ability to work with diverse high-achieving students
Preferred Qualifications and Education:
- Master’s degree in educational leadership or related field; experience advising undergraduate students; experience with Honors and/or learning/living communities
Responsibilities – Essential Functions:
- Provide academic advising and support for Honors students; participate in recruitment and orientation activities; collaborate with Honors staff, Housing, and other campus partners to develop and deliver co-curricular activities and events
Responsibilities – Non-Essential Functions:
- Provide outreach to Honors College alumni and develop relationships with area community colleges
