Required Qualifications and Education:
- Graduate degree in psychology, special education, or a related field
- Minimum three years’ experience with a comprehensive program evaluation and data management system
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills related to educational services in public school systems
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong technology skills
- Willingness to travel occasionally
Responsibilities -Essential Functions:
- Work with the START Project leadership team to update the program evaluation and data collection system for the project’s grant-funded activities
- Develop a data management system for the project priorities
- Analyze and represent data for decision making by the project team
- Summarize and visually represent data in a meaningful and user-friendly format for school-based users
- Summarize and visually represent data for reporting to the Michigan Department of Education, Office of Special Education, and additional grant sources as needed
- Develop data collection and analysis systems to be used within schools to measure and report student progress, classroom and building implementation, and coaching support effectiveness
- Collaborate in the development, revision, and expansion of the project’s training curriculum, tools, and resources for program evaluation, data collection, and data-based decision making for school-based teams
- Collaborate in the development of fidelity checklists for effective implementation of evidence-based practices
- Contribute knowledge and expertise that advances the implementation of evidence-based practices to support students with higher support needs in schools
- Collaborate with project staff to provide training to school-based teams on program evaluation, data collection, and data-based decision making
- Collaborate to present data at state and national conferences
- Collaborate to develop training content and resources to support the implementation of evidence-based practices for students with higher support needs in schools
- Engage and support designated Regional Collaborative Networks (RCN) to implement the START priorities through the RCN contract
- Utilize a variety of technology tools to support project goals

Campus: The Autism Education Center’s main office is located on GVSU’s Robert C. Pew Grand Rapids Campus. The successful candidate does not have to live in, or relocate to the Grand Rapids area but will need to travel within Michigan periodically. This position will require periodic travel for meetings or site support.
