Assistant Golf Course Superintendent - Meadows Golf Club ( Business and Finance)

This is a working position to assist the Golf Course Superintendent in overseeing the job functions responsible for golf course maintenance.
Responsibilities - Essential Functions:
- Assist in planning and supervising the maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, etc.
- Schedule and supervise employees and their designated tasks/use of equipment.
- Assist in programming, repair, and maintenance of irrigation system.
- Perform or supervise the implementation of an overall turf health program. This includes aerating, topdressing, and the application of pesticides, fertilizer, and chemicals to golf course turf.
- Operate an assortment of golf course equipment, including but not limited to: mowers, utility vehicles, sweepers, brooms, rollers, rakes, loaders, compressors, trenchers, automobiles, etc.
- Mow golf course turf and perform daily course setup duties.
- Maintain and repair golf course equipment.
- Supervision of students, and temporary staff.
- Performs other duties as required/assigned by manager.
Required Qualifications and Education:
- 2 to 5 years experience in golf course maintenance.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Good time management, organizational, and prioritization skills.
Preferred Qualifications and Education:
- 2 or 4-year college degree in Agronomy, Turf Management, or related field.
- Ability to operate all equipment used for golf course maintenance.
- Member of Golf Course Superintendent’s Association.
- Michigan Pesticide Certificate or ability to obtain within a 6-month period.
Normal office and outdoor/all-weather environment. Some travel may be required.
