Required Qualifications:
- At least a master’s degree in Educational Foundations or a closely related field
- Academic courses in sociology, history, anthropology, or philosophy of education
- Record of successful teaching at the p-12 level
- Successful teaching of history, philosophy, anthropology, or sociology of education in a post-secondary institution
- Appropriate licensure/certification or ability to be certified in Michigan
- Effective oral, written, and interpersonal skills
- Willingness and ability to travel to all GVSU sites, including distance sites, for instruction
- Willingness to teach using multimedia modes of instruction, including online and hybrid formats
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctorate/ABD in Educational Foundations or closely related field
Responsibilities:
- Teach up to three courses per semester in the area of social foundations of education
- Prepare pre-service teachers to understand the context of educational issues, meet the needs of a diverse student populations, and transition into a professional role
Salary: $1,000 per credit hour taught
