Summary: Grand Valley State is a masters-at-large, liberal arts college with just over 25,000 undergraduate and graduate students housed on two campuses in Allendale and Grand Rapids, Michigan. The exercise science program is contained within the Movement Science Department and has just over 1,000 undergraduate students across two different emphasis areas – Clinical and Health Fitness Instruction.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of an MS/MA in exercise science or a closely related field is essential.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college and/or university level, and commitment to professional growth.

Preferred Qualification:

  • A nationally-recognized professional certification, e.g. NSCA or ACSM or equivalent

Responsibilities:

The responsibility of this position will be to teach four courses per semester related to:

  • Motor Skill Development
  • Research Methods
  • Exercise Physiology
  • Other courses as assigned

Salary: Commensurate with experience. Initially a one-year appointment, with the possibility of two one-year renewals to a maximum of three years.
