Summary: The Film and Video Production program at Grand Valley State University is looking for a visiting professor to teach film studies during the 2022 - 23 academic year (one year contract, renewable to a maximum of 3 years). The successful candidate will teach four courses per semester in film studies, specifically in history, theory and criticism. The Film & Video Production major, as a discipline within the department of Visual and Media Arts, emphasizes the integration of theory and practice. We are particularly interested in receiving applications from candidates from underrepresented groups, and from candidates who have interest and/or experience in working with diverse student and community populations.

Required Qualifications and Education:

  • Master's degree or higher in film studies (or related field).
  • Experience teaching in higher education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, such as the ability to interact with others with respect and empathy.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach four courses per semester in the Film and Video Production program.
