Summary

This position will serve in a key role with the day to day operations of select multi-use venues and a variety of sport activities. There are 2 open positions.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  1. Facility Management
    1. Daily oversight of assigned athletic & recreation facilities
    2. Maintenance, repair, organization, work orders of assigned spaces
    3. Work with facility projects
  2. Equipment Oversight
    1. Oversee all equipment maintenance, cleaning & repair within assigned areas
    2. Liaison with equipment vendors and service technicians
  3. Staffing
    1. Hiring, training, scheduling, supervision of student staff
    2. Involvement in hiring, training, supervision of Graduate Student Assistant
  4. Event Management
    1. Game and event operations lead within assigned venues
    2. Coordinator of camps, clinics, tournaments within assigned venues
  5. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sport Management, Recreation or related field
  • 1-2 years of professional facility and event experience within a university athletic setting
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience
  • Strong commitment to customer service and demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of groups including students, faculty, and staff
  • Able to multi-task, work independently and self-motivate
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Experience in planning and running events as the event coordinator
  • CPR/AED/First Aid Certified

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES PREFERRED

  • Master’s degree preferred in sport management, sport leadership, business or in related field
  • Past work experience with college students
  • Familiar with work study awards
  • CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor or ability to become an instructor
  • Demonstrated experience with problem solving and conflict management
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Demonstrated experience working with a diverse population in a university environment
  • Involvement with industry professional organizations

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work environment will include indoor and outdoor responsibilities and in all weather conditions.  Office work will be conducted in a shared office space.  Night and weekend work should be expected.
