  1. Facility Management
    1. Daily oversight of the 95,000 sq ft Recreation Center
    2. Daily oversight of the Aquatic Center operations
    3. Responsible for Aquatic Center inspections and water data collection
    4. Maintenance, repair, organization, work orders, for assigned spaces
    5. Project lead for construction projects within areas of oversight
    6. Decision maker for scheduling requests within areas of oversight
    7. Responsible for customer service initiatives and issues within areas of oversight
  2. Equipment Oversight
    1. Oversee all equip. maintenance, cleaning, repair & purchasing within assigned areas
    2. Liaison with equipment vendors and service technicians
  3. Staffing
    1. Hiring, training, scheduling, supervision of student lifeguard staff
    2. Coordinate regular lifeguard in-service trainings
    3. Oversight of undergraduate Recreation Center student staff
    4. Involvement in hiring, training, supervision of Graduate Student Assistant
    5. Direct supervision of full-time Facility & Group Coordinator
  4. Event Management
    1. Swim meet operations lead
    2. Direct involvement with school group rentals within the Fieldhouse
  5. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor


  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sport Management, Recreation, or related field
  • 3+ years of professional experience in the administration/management of a multi-purpose recreational or athletic facility
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience
  • Strong commitment to customer service and demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of groups including students, faculty, staff and community members
  • Able to multi-task, work independently and self-motivate
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Experience in planning and running events as the event coordinator
  • CPR/AED/First Aid Certified or ability to become certified in the first 30 days of employment


  • Master’s degree in related field
  • Past work experience with college students in a university setting
  • Experience with budget and finance of facilities operations
  • Experience in facility emergency response and risk management
  • CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor or ability to become an instructor
  • Pool Operator Certification (CPO or AFO) or ability to secure certification
  • Lifeguard Certification or ability to secure certification
  • Experience with management and purchasing of recreation equipment
  • Demonstrated experience with problem solving and conflict management
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Demonstrated experience working with a diverse population in a university environment
  • Involvement with industry professional organizations


Work conditions will include mainly indoor responsibilities within a recreation center and pool environment. Office work will be conducted in a private office space. Occasional night and weekend work should be expected.

Salary: Commensurate with experience
