Summary

This is a part-time, no benefits position. The Assistant Bowling Coach works in coordination with the Head Bowling Coach assisting in coaching the men’s and women’s club bowling teams, planning practices, arranging travel, ensuring student performance, recruiting players, maintaining roster size, and managing the program budget. Assistant Coach is expected to travel to all home and away competitions. This position will also work closely with the team’s Executive Board members.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  1. Assists in scheduling, planning, and attends weekly practices and ensure safety at all times.
  2. Assist with developing and overseeing risk management strategies and abides by and ensures club/member adherence to RecWell and USBC College regulations and policies.
  3. Assist in planning and organization of the ongoing development of the program
  4. Attend all home and away competitions and execute all in game leadership, strategies, and provide mentorship to all members of the club.
  5. Assist with recruiting qualified student athletes to the program.
  6. Performs other duties as required/assigned by club executive board or head coach.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Required – Previous competitive coaching and bowling experience. USBC Level 1 or Bronze
  • Required – CPR/First Aid/AED & Concussion certifications or the ability to obtain them through club sports before starting instruction. Ability to complete and pass a background check.
  • Preferred – Strong communication and teaching skills.  Demonstrated mentorship/leadership abilities.
  • Preferred – Valid Driver’s License, ability to obtain  to travel as needed on nights and weekends

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed outside of a normal office environment and will require night and evening hours outside of typical business hours.  Travel will be required for both practice and event opportunities.
