Position Title: Affiliate Faculty of Instruction – Allied Health Sciences
Summary: The Allied Health Sciences Department within Grand Valley State University’s College of Health Professions invites applications for an Affiliate Faculty of Instruction position; at GVSU, an Affiliate Faculty of Instruction position is a 9-month, full-time, academic year teaching position that is renewable every one to three years with a teaching load of 30-credits/year. This position will support the Allied Health Sciences program at the Traverse City campus and begin August 6, 2023. The selected candidate will work daily out of the Traverse City campus and preference will be given to candidates familiar with the Traverse City region.
Required Qualifications and Education:
- Master’s Degree in a discipline pertinent to the Allied Health Science program.
- Sufficient experience in a health-related discipline that provides the knowledge to teach Allied Health Sciences program courses.
- Commitment to inclusion, equity, diversity, and accessibility in order to provide inclusive experiences to a diverse population
Preferred Qualifications and Education:
- Evidence of post-secondary teaching experience
- Experience in teaching hybrid and/ or online courses
- Experience in advising undergraduate students
- Experience in utilizing inclusive practices in courses
Responsibilities – Essential Functions:
- Provide instruction for courses in the Allied Health Sciences program
- Advise students in the Allied Health Sciences program
- Participate in Allied Health Sciences projects and programming
- Support Allied Health Science program development at the Traverse City campus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Salary: Commensurate with experience
Department/Division: School of Interdisciplinary Health’s Allied Health Sciences program within the College of Health Professions.
Campus: Primarily at the Traverse City Campus.
