SUMMARY:
This position is a key aspect of the launch of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences strategic plan, particularly the CLAS Voyage. This position will support the CLAS Center for Experiential Learning and the Faculty Fellows to ensure a timely launch of the curricular arc called the Voyage (www.gvsu.edu/ccel). They will collaborate and manage aspects of projects and communication needs and facilitate the completion of tasks from across the college.
This position is currently funded through June 30, 2024 with the possibility of future funding and/or conversion to a full-time, regular position with benefits.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Coordinates to plan, prioritize, and track projects related to the CLAS Vision, Commitments and Action Plan;
- Support the administrative needs of the start-up CLAS Center for Experiential Learning, including processing reservations, financial transactions; and scheduling, attending and recording meetings with multiple stakeholders;
- Interface with CLAS Faculty Fellows, Dean’s Office staff, and other stakeholders to collaboratively coordinate projects;
- Budget and track expenditures for each pilot project and for CCEL overall;
- Identify and collaboratively write grants and other funding proposals to support the work of CCEL in the interim, and long-term;
- Co-lead the CLAS Alumni-in-Residence Program;
- Performs other duties as required/assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- A Bachelor’s Degree and 3-5 year’s experience in a higher education setting working with academic and/or student affairs, specifically working with faculty;
- Previous documented project management success. Certification or formal training in project management (PMP, Scrum, or similar) preferred;
- Experience in designing, planning, and running events;
- Knowledge and experience with digital and MS Office tools, in particular MS Teams;
- High-level critical thinking, attention to detail, time-management, organizational, writing, speaking and reasoning skills;
- Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills;
- Experience in grant writing, management, and reporting preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Normal office environment. Some travel may be required. Some evening and weekend events may be necessary. Some remote work may be possible.

Salary: $55,000 - $62,000, commensurate with experience
