GVSU is looking for adjunct instructors to teach the following undergraduate (Introduction to Education; Research and Assessment) and graduate (School Learning) courses.

Qualifications for EDF 115 (Introduction to Education)

  • A Master’s degree in Educational Foundations, Teacher Education, or closely related field.
  • At least 18 hours of master’s level coursework in history, sociology, anthropology, philosophy, or politics of education, teacher education, curriculum and instruction etc.
  • Knowledge of the way schools work, and the professional roles and responsibilities of educators, principles of teaching and learning, including social and cultural factors that shape learning outcomes.
  • Record of successful teaching at the p-12 level.
  • Record of successful teaching at the post-secondary level.
  • Effective oral, written. and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to teach using multimedia modes of instruction, including online and hybrid formats.

Qualifications for EDF 260 (Research and Assessment)

  • A Master’s degree in Educational Foundations, Teacher Education, or closely related field.
  • At least 18 hours of graduate level coursework in educational research and/or assessment.
  • More than 3 years of proven experience in school assessment.
  • Knowledge of the basic principles, techniques, and ethical considerations underlying educational research, educational assessment, and action research.
  • Record of successful teaching at the p-12 level.
  • Record of successful teaching at the post-secondary level.
  • Effective oral, written. and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to teach using multimedia modes of instruction, including online and hybrid formats.

Qualifications for EDF 653 (School Learning)

  • Graduate degree in psychology, school counseling, school psychology, or closely related field.
  • At least 18 hours of coursework beyond master’s, in psychology, school psychology, school counseling, or closely related field.  
  • More than 3 years of proven experience in school psychology or a closely related field.
  • Knowledge of learning theories and their applications in the school setting.
  • Record of successful teaching at the p-12 level.
  • Record of successful teaching at the post-secondary level.
  • Effective oral, written. and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to teach using multimedia modes of instruction, including online and hybrid formats.

Salary: $1,000 per credit hour taught

Employment Date: August 2023/2024
