Position Title:  Assistant/Associate Professor- Occupational Science & Therapy

Summary: Grand Valley State University (GVSU) in Grand Rapids, Michigan is accepting applications for a full-time, tenure track position in the Occupational Science & Therapy Department, which is a part of GVSU’s Health Campus. This is a 12-month position with a primary focus on teaching with additional time allotted for advising, scholarship, service, and guiding research in graduate students.

Required Qualifications and Education:

  • Master’s degree in occupational therapy, or related field of study
  • Earned doctoral degree, or enrollment in a doctorate program
  • Minimum of five years of clinical experience as an occupational therapist
  • Current OT license in the state of Michigan, or eligibility to become licensed

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

  • Previous academic experience as a full-time educator or adjunct instructor
  • Peer-reviewed scholarly outcomes, either publication(s) or presentation(s)

 Responsibilities – Essential Functions:

  • Teaching 24 credits over 12 months within the Department of Occupational Science & Therapy
  • Serving as the MSOT program Research Coordinator
  • Academic advising for students in the traditional and hybrid MSOT programs
  • Mentoring student research groups
  • Unit, college, university, and professional service
  • Active scholarship agenda

 Responsibilities – Non-Essential Functions:

  • Provide leadership in advancing the profession’s knowledge base
  • Model advocacy to meet the occupational & social justice vision of the profession

Salary:  Commensurate with experience
