Position Overview:

This position collaborates with health programs to support student clinical placements by identifying placement opportunities, facilitating required onboarding documents, managing the preceptor recognition program, and maintaining the placement database.

Primary Duties:

  1. Apply knowledge of academic programs and clinical roles to interface with a variety of health professionals regarding clinical placements.
  2. Assist academic programs to identify and secure clinical placement sites for students.
  3. Completes attestations and other onboarding documents for student clinical placements.
  4. Manage the database for clinical placement and preceptor information to ensure timely and accurate data collection and entry.
  5. Create clinical placement and preceptor reports for administration each semester, and as requested.
  6. Manage the GVSU Preceptor Perks Program including coordination of preceptor enrollment, collaboration with other university departments, and creation of documents.
  7. Coordinate fit testing for academic programs.
  8. Assist with health compliance audits.
  9. Assist with department communication including website and newsletter articles.
  10. Promote professionalism, confidentiality, cooperation and good working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and clinical practice sites. 
  11. Perform other duties as required/assigned by leadership.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Registered nurse
  • Three to five years progressively responsible positions in clinical, health care administration or higher education setting(s).
  • Experience working with a variety of databases and software systems.
  • High level time management and organizational skills to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Proficiency in English language and grammar.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Master’s degree in nursing
  • Experience in occupational medicine or quality improvement
  • Experience in program development
  • Experience in marketing or public relations

Working Conditions:

Normal office environment. Some travel and occasional evening and weekend work may be required.

SALARY: Minimum starting salary of $59,000;commensurate with experience
