The University Counseling Center and Alcohol Campus Education Services are seeking a Mental Health Outreach Specialist to assist in student mental health prevention efforts and to support larger institutional wellness goals. The Mental Health Outreach Specialist will be responsible for developing and delivering programs and materials that support Center services while optimizing the mental health of the campus community. This position reports to the Assistant Director for Prevention and Community Education and works closely with the University Counseling Center clinical team, as well as Student Affairs Division partners.

Assistant Professor - Music: Choral Music Education (College of Liberal Arts and Sciences) Allendale
Grand Valley State University, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Choral Music Education in the Department of Music, Theatre, and Dance beginning August 2020. The successful candidate must have a completed doctoral degree in Choral Music Education by the time of hire; a master’s degree or graduate cognate in Choral Conducting; a minimum 3 years of successful K-12 teaching experience; demonstrated successful experience programming for, rehearsing, and leading choral ensembles; and communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with an increasingly diverse array of students and colleagues at both the secondary and university level. Preference will be given to candidates who have 5 or more years of successful K-12 teaching experience and university-level experience with teaching techniques and pedagogy courses in choral music education.
Director of Annual Giving - University Development Grand Rapids
The Director of Annual Giving will lead and oversee a comprehensive annual giving program. The Director will help determine strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and acknowledge annual giving donors and prospects including alumni, parents, students, current and past employees, and community leaders. A component of the Director’s work will be cultivation and stewardship of a select portfolio of annual giving prospects. The Director will also oversee the scope of outreach and communications via a variety of vehicles for the Annual Giving program. This position requires a bachelor’s degree and five years’ minimum experience in fundraising preferably in higher education or a hospital setting.

Secretary - Psychology (College of Liberal Arts and Sciences) Allendale
The candidate hired for this position must be able to fulfill duties associated with an office in a large academic department. The Psychology Department has 41 full time faculty, along with affiliate, visiting, and adjunct faculty. We serve approximately 1000 psychology majors, almost 300 behavioral neuroscience majors, and 700 psychology minors. The candidate must have enough technical proficiency with software programs to be willing and able to learn new programs if they are not known (Qualtrics, Adobe Acrobat), and programs specific to GVSU. The candidate also must be able to work in an environment that is busy at times, and in which interruptions can be common.

Affiliate Faculty of Writing. The Department of Writing at Grand Valley State University seeks to fill a full-time (9-month), non-tenure track Affiliate Faculty position beginning August 6, 2020. No scholarship expectations or service obligations. An M.A., M.S. or M.F.A. in English, Rhetoric/Composition, or Writing is required by time of employment. Candidates need to have expertise and experience in teaching college composition. Candidates must also have experience teaching writing in a computer lab. Preferred qualifications include graduate coursework in rhetoric and composition, or its professional equivalent. The typical full-time (9-month) teaching load is 12-credit hours per semester, drawn from GVSU's general education composition courses. The position is not tenure-track. Individuals will be appointed for one academic year on a full-time basis. This may be renewed once for an additional academic year. Thereafter, such individuals may be appointed for three (3) consecutive academic years. The ideal candidates will focus their careers on teaching general education writing courses and on continuously developing their professional expertise as writing teachers.
