Assistant Professor - School of Engineering (Padnos College of Engineering and Computing) Grand Rapids
The School of Engineering within Grand Valley State University’s Seymour and Esther Padnos College of Engineering and Computing invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. This position is within the Electrical and Computer engineering program and involves teaching in support of our BSE and MSE programs at all levels from first-year through Master’s courses, curriculum and course development, professional service, and professional development activities including scholarship. Of particular interest is teaching and industrial experience as well as experience related to recruiting and supervising industrial grade projects. This position will support the continued growth of GVSU’s Electrical and Computer Engineering Programs. The start date for this position is fall 2020.
Assistant Professor - Higher Education (College of Education) Grand Rapids
The College of Education at Grand Valley State University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Higher Education beginning August 2020. Qualifications include a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or closely related field. ABD candidates will be considered if completed by August 31, 2020. Assistant Professor - Communication Studies (School of Communications) Allendale
The School of Communications at Grand Valley State University is seeking an effective teacher and scholar to join the faculty of the Communication Studies major. This is an Assistant Professor tenure-track position to begin Fall 2020. All areas of research and scholarship are welcome. The Communication Studies major places a premium on the abilities and skills of the applicant to successfully contribute to and complement the strong teaching of the current faculty. Assistant Professor - Digital Studies and Multimedia Journalism (College of Liberal Arts and Sciences & Brooks College of Interdisclinary Studies) Allendale
The School of Communications and the Digital Studies programs at Grand Valley State University are seeking an effective teacher and scholar to join the faculty of both programs. This is an Assistant Professor tenure-track position to begin Fall 2020. Applicants without a Ph.D must possess a master’s degree in journalism or a related field with significant experience in data journalism, computational journalism, data visualization, or a combination of all three. College teaching experience is required. A Ph.D. in journalism or a related communications field with significant professional data journalism experience is preferred.
Assistant /Associate Professor - School of Engineering Mechanical (Padnos College of Engineering and Computing) Grand Rapids
The School of Engineering within Grand Valley State University’s Seymour and Esther Padnos College of Engineering and Computing invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. A highly motivated candidate is sought to teach in the general areas of mechanics and machine design in addition to other areas that include but are not limited to controls and robotics. The ideal candidate will be expected to teach some lower division courses as well. The start date for this position is fall 2020. This position will support the continued growth of GVSU’s Mechanical Engineering Program, which has doubled in size in the last several years. The Mechanical Engineering Program offers an ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSE) degree as well as a Master of Science in Engineering (MSE) degree. The BSE program includes mandatory co-op education experiences and an extensive experiential learning component. The MSE program emphasizes professional practice as well as applied research. Partly sponsored by the local industry, these programs yield job-ready as well as graduate school-ready engineering graduates in support of the diversified regional industries.

Required Qualifications and Education: Doctorate in Kinesiology, Exercise Science or closely related field. ABD will be considered with Ph.D. completed by August 2020.
