Research Manager Grand Rapids, Michigan
The Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy seeks to understand, strengthen, and advance philanthropy in order to create strong, inclusive communities.  The Center is seeking a Research Manager to join an interdisciplinary team of social science and information technology professionals. This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position with the center’s Community Data and Research Lab, located at our offices on the Pew Campus at GVSU, with the opportunity for flexible work arrangements according to the GVSU remote work policy (see Salary and Benefits and ADA sections below). As a Research Manager, you will focus on program evaluation, quantitative and qualitative analysis, writing, and presentation support for applied research and evaluation projects.  The Research Manager works collaboratively with research associates, data analysts, and web developers at the lab as well as staff across the Johnson Center. In addition, the Research Manager builds relationships with current and potential clients and engages in public speaking and facilitation at workshops, presentations, and conferences. Key to the position is maintaining the highest standards of research quality and ethics, including collaboration with the university’s Institutional Review Board.  In addition, the Research Manager proposes research methodology (including alternative and equitable approaches to evaluation and participation), follows existing Johnson Center data protocols, suggests and implements improvements, and serves as an internal and external “evaluation ambassador” for the Johnson Center. The Research Manager will regularly meet one-on-one with the Director of the Community Data and Research Lab, who will work closely with you and support you regarding project selection, client engagement, research, and final presentation. Psychology Lab Supervisor - Psychology Allendale, Michigan
The Psychology Department seeks a full time Lab Supervisor to manage technical aspects of our psychology department laboratory and to assist with creation and delivery of courses, seminars, activities, trainings, etc. for students in the areas of introductory psychology and research methods. More than one thousand Introductory Psychology students participate in research studies in the laboratory each year, and the labs also provide upper-level psychology students with experience with research methods via work on faculty laboratory teams. Police Academy Assistant Director - College of Education and Community Innovation Allendale, Michigan
The Assistant Director (AD) provides support and assistance to the Academy Director in the operation of a law enforcement training program that operates 5 to 6 days per week, 9 to 13 hours per day for 15 weeks.  The AD assists in providing coordination, administrative assistance, and oversight to approximately 50 students and 100 instructors in two academy cohort models per year.  Depending upon the operation of police academy programs (Basic & MP Veterans), the AD’s hours are variable and may include both day, evening, and weekend schedules.

The Grand Valley State University (GVSU) Health and Physical Education (HPE) program is searching to hire an Affiliate Faculty to begin August 2024. This position is potentially renewable, depending on available funding. As a candidate for this position, you must have a master’s degree in physical education, health education, or a related field. Experience teaching in a PK-12 setting is preferred. Candidates must be enthusiastically committed to teaching to a diverse population of students; possess strong communication and interpersonal skills; and preferably have experience teaching undergraduate pre-service teachers.
