The Literacy Studies program in the College of Education and Community Innovation at Grand Valley State University is seeking TWO full time tenure track Assistant Professors with a doctorate in literacy education or a related field. The positions begin Fall 2023. Candidates should have expertise in at least three of the following areas: reading theory and pedagogy, content area/disciplinary literacy, assessment, English language arts pedagogy, adolescent and/or children’s literature, writing across the curriculum, literacy coaching/professional development. A minimum of three years of literacy teaching in accredited U.S. public or private school is required, with preference given to those with a reading specialist certification.

The Department of Literacy, Educational Foundations, and Technology in the College of Education and Community Innovation (CECI) at Grand Valley State University (GVSU) seeks a colleague for a tenure-track appointment at the Assistant Professor rank in Educational Foundations to begin in August 2023. We seek candidates from a diverse pool of scholars with expertise (teaching and/or research) on culturally responsive and culturally sustaining pedagogies and who can teach and coordinate a field-based introduction to Educational Foundations course. We particularly invite applications from candidates who can demonstrate professional and applied experiences in P-12 settings, working with historically marginalized communities, and/or with students of marginalized identities. Candidates with demonstrated experience with social justice education and/or diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives/training are also preferred. |
